Qatar, the hosts of the 2022 World Cup, were automatic qualifiers. However, they may have reached the tournament anyway after winning the AFC Asian Cup in 2019.
Led by Spanish coach Felix Sánchez, Qatar’s player pool primarily plays for a few teams in the Qatar Stars League (First Division), namely Al Sadd and Al Duhail.
