Mumbai:

With a promise to meet again, Irrfan Khan’s wife Sutapa Sikdar shared a heartfelt note remembering her actor husband and cherishing the time spent with him. Irfan, 54, lost his battle with a rare type of cancer and died on April 29 at a Mumbai hospital. He is survived by Sutapa and his two sons Babil and Ayan.

Quoting Sufi poet Rumi, Sutapa wrote on Facebook, ‘There is a field beyond the ideas of right and wrong. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about.’ It’s just a matter of time… will meet again… till we meet again.’

Along with the note, he also shared two old pictures of the late actor. After being diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor in 2018, Irrfan stayed out of the public eye and later went to the UK for treatment. The actor returned to the country in 2019 and shot for “Angrezi Medium”, a sequel to his 2017 hit “Hindi Medium”.

However, his health condition prevented him from promoting the film, which hit theaters in March, just before the coronavirus-forced nationwide lockdown that began on March 25.
